Injury forces Kiyonari out of Silverstone BSB

Samsung Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari will not take part in this weekend's Silverstone MCE British Superbike round after injuring his shoulder in a motocross crash. He will be replaced by Freddy Foray.

The Japanese rider's hopes of challenging for the title have now gone as even Kiyo, who snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with three wins at Oulton Park in 2010, cannot make up the deficit.

"It's a huge disappointment for Kiyo and for us that he won't be able to ride this weekend. He has injured the same collarbone that he hurt at Suzuka and we will have to see now if he can ride at Brands Hatch," said team boss Havier Beltran, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.

"We have brought in Freddy as he has Superbike experience here and in the German championship. He isn't so familar with Silverstone but he is keen to learn as fast as possible."
