Irishman Lee Johnston will ride for the newly-firmed Rapido Sport Ducati team and contest the Pirelli National Superstock Championship and international road races.
The partnership was formed by team owners Steve Moore and James Murray to create a single team presence in the MCE British Superbike series and the International road racing races of the IOM TT, North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix.
Using the new 2013 1199R the team have secured riders Matteo Baiocco (BSB Superbike class) and Lee Johnston (BSB Superstock 1000). Lee will also ride the three main international road races in both the Superbike class and Superstock.
Team manager, Steve Moore commented: “I am very happy to join forces with Millsport to create team Rapido Sport Racing. Over several meetings it soon became clear that we could work well together and present a stronger and more efficient team in both the BSB paddock and the road racing internationals where the experience of the Millsport team will be invaluable. Together we can field a strong side for Ducati in the Superbike and Superstock classes.
“We’re all pleased to have Lee in Superstock 1000 where he proved himself on last years bike so with the 1199R
and some development and support from Bologna I am sure we can expect more great results from him.”
