Karl Harris was sensationally sacked by Hydrex Honda team boss Shaun Muir last night. The underperforming rider has been on a secret race-by-race deal since Snetterton and his efforts at Cadwell Park proved to be the last straw.
Harris began the season strongly but has failed to deliver the goods on an equal bike to team-mate Stuart Easton, who is third in the championship and has been a regular podium finisher.
"I haven't been pleased with Karl's performance all season and we did everything we could to help him get back on track but it just wasn't to be," said Muir, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"Karl knew he was on a sticky wicket and Cadwell's race results were the last straw. I am not sure now if we will find a replacement rider for the last three rounds or just continue with Stuart for the time being."
