KNOCKHILL BSB: CAMIER DOES THE SCOTTISH DOUBLE

Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier had done yet another British Superbike double this afternoon at Knockhill, putting on a masterful display after briefly battling with good mate Josh Brookes on the sole HM Plant Honda.

Camier's team-mate James Ellison eased his way onto the podium after going past Hydrex Honda's Stuart Easton with ten laps to go. Chris Walker ended the race fifth with MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews sixth.

Brookes got off the line and into the first corner ahead of Easton, trying to make a break away from Camier and had a lead of 0.6s at the end of lap one after Camier got past the Scotsman into the hairpin.

The pair were scrapping closely as Camier wound in Brookes' lead, sailing past the Australian into the hairpin on lap seven but Brookes was back into front as they went back into the first corner.

Camier was back in the lead after just two more corners and got the hammer down, slowly pulling away from Brookes as Ellison and Worx Suzuki's Michael Rutter started to catch Easton.

Ellison went past Rutter into the hairpin and got onto the back of Easton who he then overtook but couldn't shake him. Rutter crashed out with a handful of laps to go and Tommy Bridewell finishing as the Superbike Cup winner, going past Gary Mason with three laps to go.
Both Karl Harris and Ian Lowry retired with mechanical problems, and John Laverty crashed early on in the race.
