Leon Camier has handed his GSE Racing squad their first-ever British Superbike win at Knockhill in race one this afternoon while bagging his fifth victory in a row.
In an incident-packed race, Camier led Hydrex Honda's Stuart Easton across the line with HM Plant Honda's Josh Brookes taking the final podium slot and MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews in fourth.
At the start of the 30-lap race, Easton got away first in his customary style followed by Brookes, Camier and Worx Suzuki's Michael Rutter but Camier was straight past the Australian into the third corner.
Easton's team-mate Karl Harris crashed out at the hairpin on the first lap, which held up Airwaves Yamaha's James Ellison and the Motorpoint Yamaha of Chris Walker, both dropping right back through the pack.
Camier took the lead from Easton one lap later and proceeded to clear off, lapping a couple of tenths faster than everyone else, and was the only rider to get into the 48s lap bracket.
Brookes managed to hold on to Easton as they pulled away from the scrap fourth. Andrews got past Relentless Suzuki's Ian Lowry on lap five as Camier pulled out a 0.7s lead.
On lap eight, Andrews went up the inside of Michael Rutter at the hairpin and Lowry pulled the same pass on the Midlander two laps later. Lowry then went underneath Andrews to take fourth place as Ellison and Walker clawed their way back up the leaderboard. Andrews then went back under the Irishman on lap 14 and began to pull away.
Quay Garage Honda's Gary Mason lost the front out of the hairpin on lap 20, taking out Tristan Palmer in the process, and the safety car came out which bunched everyone back up again.
With three laps added, race leader Camier was very slow out of the hairpin knowing that no-one could go past until he crossed the line, and surprised the field as he cracked the throttle open just at the line.
Lowry got the jump on Andrews on the run down to Seat, but the Kawasaki was back into fourth on lap 30 and then Ellison just sneaked in front of the Irishman over the line.
NB Suzuki's Tommy Bridewell took the Superbike Cup win, in front of Peter Hickman and Tom Tunstall.
