KNOCKHILL BSB: GRANT IN HOSPITAL AFTER SPILL

SMT Honda's Tom Grant looks likely to miss the next British Superbike round at Cadwell Park after a horror crash at Knockhill saw him left with a badly-injured arm.

Grant was racing for 15th place in race two when he was hit by David Johnson's Maxxis Honda. Grant hasn't broken any bones but his arm was crushed by the impact and he has been taken to hospital.

SMT Honda's Robin Croft said: "Tom was riding well but simply got hit by a fallen rider and he didn't know what had hit him. He's in a lot of pain right now and although X-rays have shown nothing is broken, his arm got crushed by the impact and his hand has swollen up so he's gone to the hospital for an operation to relieve the pressure.

"At this moment in time, it looks unlikely that we'll be at Cadwell but we'll have to see. The bike is working well and we've got a good, young rider in Tom so let's hope we can be back out on the grid soon."
