HM Plant Honda's Glen Richards grabbed the quickest time in this afternoon's second British Superbike free practice session just before the heavens opened.
The likeable Aussie posted a 49.668s lap with only ten minutes of the session gone before it began to rain heavily. MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Julien Da Costa was one one-hundredth of a second slower than Richards with Josh Brookes third fastest and Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier in fourth.
Both Richards and Brookes got in some wet-weather testing, doing 28 laps each but the Airwaves Yamaha riders did 11 laps between them, so they might have a different weather forecast this weekend.
Hydrex Honda's Stuart Easton also used the time to look for a wet setup but team-mate Karl Harris didn't turn a wheel for the whole session. Worx Suzuki's Michael Rutter did 11 laps while da Costa completed 19, nine more than his team-mate Simon Andrews.
