KNOCKHILL BSB: SUSPECTED BROKEN LEG FOR RICHARDS

HM Plant Honda’s Glen Richards has suffered a suspected broken femur following his crash in the final stage of the Swan Combi Roll for Pole this afternoon at Knockhill at the half way point of the season.
At the moment the Australian rider and 2008 Supersport Champion has not had an x-ray to confirm his injuries and has been transferred to the local hospital for further medical treatment.
It is believed that Richards crashed on his own at the Real Radio Hairpin, the last corner before the start/finish straight and Ian Lowry of Relentless Suzuki who followed was unable to avoid him causing both riders and their bikes to collide.
The outcome of today could seriously damage Richards championship in which he currently sits fourth in the championship on 103 points after suffering only one DNF and finishing constantly in the top ten, including a second podium place at the opening round of the season.
