KNOCKHILL BSB: WILSON OVERJOYED WITH DEBUT SUPERSPORT WIN

Gearlink Kawasaki's Ben Wilson is overjoyed with the debut win he took during the Knockhill British Supersport race last weekend, which was also the team's first victory.

The Lincolnshire rider rode a smart race, taking opportunities where he could. He passed Centurion Honda's Tom Grant for third on lap five and inherited second when Steve Plater lobbed it. Wilson then battled with James Westmoreland, finally making a move for the lead stick on the last lap. And to top it all off, Wilson was named James Whitham's Eurosport Man of the Meeting.

"I just want to thank all boys and girls in the Gearlink Kawasaki team, especially Michael and Norma for taking me on board this year. The whole team have worked really hard to make sure my bike is capable of doing the job and I can’t thank them and Kawasaki Motors UK enough for their sterling efforts," said Wilson.

"I would also like to thank all my sponsors, as without them I wouldn’t even be on the track. I am just so happy to have given Gearlink Kawasaki their first race win in the British Supersport series and now we have won one race there is no reason why we can’t produce more of the same."
