Kyle Ryde reacts to a 'brilliant win' at Cadwell Park

Kyle Ryde dominated the first race of the weekend at Cadwell Park as he claimed his third win of 2024.

After winning a race last time out at Thruxton Kyle Ryde had kept his Championship challenge alive. However, when he arrived at Cadwell Park it did not go to plan after struggling in the Friday test. But during the weekend Ryde found pace and made his way to the front.

Qualifying was nearly perfect for the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing rider as he put his R1 in second on the grid. From the moment the start lights went out Ryde was untouchable as he stormed to the lead and never looked back.

This race win has put Ryde 19 points behind Championship leader, Tommy Bridewell. With 11 races still to go in 2024, Ryde is well and truly in the title fight.

"After Qualifying I was really good in the last two sectors, but I struggled in the first," Ryde told Shane Byrne after Race One.

"I didn't want to be in second or third and just be a yo-yo effect. We wanted to get to the front and be able to do my pace in those two sectors, I think that is what won me the race really.

"I struggled in sector one, I don't know what everyone else does apart from me. I am always losing two or three-tenths but I gain it back through there (sectors two and three). If I could get to the front, I knew I was going to be out of breath and the heart rate would be at 190 for 25 minutes, but I managed it well.

"My slowest lap was my last lap after I had a second and a half gap. But it was a brilliant win, I think I deserved it after last year coming second twice. Credit to the team we struggled on Friday but we brought it back, and took my first race win at Cadwell Park!"
