Leon Haslam has confirmed he will compete in the 2024 British Superbike Championship [BSB] after revealing an extended deal with its title backer under the freshly-titled ROKiT Haslam Racing BMW Motorrad team.

The new team structure represents a progression from Haslam’s last minute deal to compete in BSB last season using BMW M 1000 RR machinery but as part of his own self-formed team, partially-run by himself and his father, ‘Rocket’ Ron Haslam.

Despite the late nature of the team’s formation, Haslam immediately proved a front-runner last season, finishing as the top BMW representative and achieving ten podiums en route to fifth overall.

With the benefit of a year’s experience under his belt and the official formation of the Haslam Racing outfit, the 2018 BSB Champion is confident he has the tools to fight for his second BSB title in 2024.

“Last year was last minute, with a lot of new elements to get to grips with, so to be so close to the championship and top BMW in the class was amazing. 

“With the learnings we gained, new product this year and additional support from ROKiT and BMW we’re even more motivated going into 2024.

“It’s really exciting to be working direct with Jonathan Kendrick and ROKiT under the newly-formed ROKiT Haslam Racing and great to see the effort that BMW is putting into racing worldwide. We’re super excited to get the season underway and look forward to challenging for the title in 2024.”

Haslam is one of BSB’s most successful riders and sits second only to Josh Brookes in terms of victories in the series, totalling 46 wins, since his debut more than 20 years ago in 2003.

His participation brings the number of confirmed entries for the 2024 BSB Championship to 29 riders.
