Former MRO Supersport star Liam Lyon has signed for the Haribo Starmix team and will make the jump to National Superstock 600 at this weekend's opening British Superbike meeting at Brands Hatch.

Lyon joins existing teamster Johnny Blackshaw in the team, famous for giving out sweets at every opportunity, after Blackshaw completed a solid learning season with the squad in 2008.

After four days testing on track out in Cartagena Spain in early March, and a day at Brands Hatch last week, both Lyon and Blackshaw are more than prepared for the task ahead.

Derek Sanders, the team’s Commercial Principal said: “We’re tasked as an incubator team for British Superbike racing; we're here to spot talented young club-racers that we feel we can help to develop.”
