MACKENZIE RECOVERING WELL AFTER CARTAGENA TESTING SPILL

Red Bull Rookie Taylor Mackenzie has had his broken collarbone pinned with a titanium elastic nail and is recovering well after a pre-season testing crash at Spain's Cartagena track.

The Scottish youngster had an operation at the Queen's Medical Centre to treat the break and now faces an eight week battle for fitness. It may mean  Mackenzie misses the opening British 125GP round at Brands Hatch over Easter weekend but should be fit for the first Red Bull Rookies race at Jerez in May.

"Taylor is recovering well after the crash where a rider took him out," said dad Niall. "The doctors have said it will take eight weeks to heal so we will have to be patient. His discomfort is minimal, so he is back at school and doing some training."
