Buildbase BMW have today announced that Howie-Mainwaring-Smart will team up with Steve Brogan for a two-man tilt at the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 title in 2012.

Mainwaring-Smart, for that is his new post-marriage name, joins Superbike riders Dan Linfoot and Barry Burrell in the Stuart Hicken-run squad and has already stated he will beat twice champion Brogan as he is younger and braver than the Liverpudlian.

“This season is going to be fantastic. The BMW has absolutely dominated Superstock for two years and the Buildbase BMW Motorrad team have put together an incredible bike. Their experience and skills will give me a fantastic opportunity to take the title. And I'm looking forward to racing alongside Brogan. Obviously I'm younger and braver, so I'll be the faster rider," said Mainwaring-Smart, after clearing it with 'er indoors.
