James Haydon has secured a spot on the MSS Kawasaki replacing Stuart Easton for the Mallory Park British Superbike round this weekend.
Haydon, who rode for Hawk Kawasaki last year, tested the bike last week at the Leicestershire track and team boss Nick Morgan confirmed the ride this morning. "James was the obvious choice after his performance's last year on Stuart Hicken's bikes. He has a wealth of experience and is probably one of the few riders who can just jump in at a moment's notice and maintain a huge level of professionalism. Plus he's a bloody nice bloke," said Morgan.
It will be an interesting weekend for Haydon who hasn't turned a wheel in BSB in anger this season, but has ridden for Phase One Endurance at the drenched Albacete Eight-Hour race. He reckons he has been keeping his fitness up while off the bike and has spent a lot of time on our TV screens, co-presenting at BSB rounds with James Whitham on Eursosport.
