MIST SUZUKI STRUGGLING TO MAKE THE OULTON BSB GRID

MIST Suzuki are in a race against time to be fit for the Oulton Park British Superbike round after their half-finished GSX-R1000 was wrecked in a crash during race one at Brands Hatch.

Rider Matt Bond was skittled by Tom Tunstall's errant, riderless Fireblade on the exit of Clark Curve, injuring his ankle and necessitating a safety car period while marshals got him off the track and cleared the debris.

The team are struggling to find the twelve to fifteen thousand pounds necessary to rebuild the bike in time for the next round at Oulton Park. The brand new Ohlins gas forks are now only fit for the rubbish bin and pretty much every other part of the motorcycle bar the rear wheel needs to be straightened or replaced in order to race again.

"Of course we were heartbroken to see all our hard work and very limited budget get
destroyed in one move that was totally outside of our control but at least Matt is relatively okay," said team boss Mike Edwards.

"We have proved to ourselves that even with the bike being no where nea finished compared to the others we are capable of fighting for podiums in the SuperBike Cup championship and beating a few factory supported riders along the way. I think we can do well this season if we can just get ourselves back on track for the next round."
