Mossey hails ‘perfect bike’ after Cartagena test

Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Luke Mossey has come away from the Pro-Test in Cartagena one very happy rider. The MCE British Superbike rookie only made one change to his ZX-10R, and that was the soften the front end. On the final day in Spain he set his best time of a 1’33.0 on an SC1 tyre.

The former Supersport racer didn’t have any expectations before the test, but felt his crew had done enough on the bike not to warrant going out in the afternoon sessions yesterday. Mossey is feeling good, but knows that the hard work starts at the opening round at Donington Park in April.

“The team have done a great job over the winter, and at the start of the year I didn’t know what to expect, but I loved the bike the moment I jumped on it from day one,” said Mossey, speaking to bikesportnews.com

“Everything is perfect and gelled well, and the test has gone so much better than I thought. We ended up being nearly quickest in every session this week and that has given me a good confidence boost. All we wanted to do was to learn how to ride the bike, and I know the races will be harder than this test - but I am feeling good.

“I know we are going to do a good job this year. All we have done is soften the front of the bike  – so that sounds a bit better doesn’t it?! I think the Kawasaki is a good package as you can see from what Shakey has done on it over the past few years. I did a 1’33.0 on a SC1 tyre, as I didn’t think the zero worked well around here, so I am massively happy and the team are over the moon after that time on Sunday."
