Luke Mossey will return to the Bennetts British Superbike series in 2022 after signing a deal with TAG Honda and gets his first taste of the bike af Brands Hatch today.
Mossey has enjoyed a varied career and has BSB Riders’ Cup Champion 2015 and 2016 Showdown challenger on his CV. The Bedfordshire man has set his sights on being a title fighter once again next year as he looks to fulfil the potential of the Fireblade.
The 29-year-old-old will take to the track today at 12:45pm for his first laps onboard the CBR1000RR-R and is aiming to produce a solid opening weekend with the team as he looks to settle in quickly onboard his new machine.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be back in the Superbike class for 2022 with TAG Racing Honda, they’re a fantastic team and certainly have the same vision as I do for 2022,” said Mossey.
“From my first conversations with Gary and Rob they impressed me with their passion for the project, and how much effort goes in behind the scenes. I’ve recently sat on the bike to confirm my riding position and straight away it felt like a pure race bike, and that excites me.
With a good amount of seat time this weekend and during pre-season I’m sure we’ll be where we should be, up at the front and challenging for the top five each weekend.
“I’m heading into this weekend with a calm head, it’s going to be a busy one contesting in both the Superbike and Superstock classes, but I’m always up for a challenge. It’s important I don’t get carried away with myself, I need to get an understanding of how the bike feels and make steady progress as we go through the weekend.
“I’m excited for the challenge that this weekend and 2022 will bring, I know that I am a front runner in BSB and I’m fully confident we have the right package to prove that me and the team can do it.”
The team’s Shaun Winfield will remain in Pirelli National Superstock for 2022.
