Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Luke Mossey has surprised himself with his quick lap times during the Pro-Test in Cartagena. He has been consistently lapping inside the high 1’33’s and low 1’34’s this week and the MCE British Superbike rookie is hoping for even more tomorrow.
His team have only made one change to the bike since they have been in Spain and that was to soften the front end, and Mossey feels the rest of the bike is ‘perfect’. The youngster prefers the feel of the race tyre, rather than a qualifier. When he tried the zero this morning he felt he lacked the pace that he had on the SC1.
“The bike is perfect at the moment and I am enjoying my time on the Superbike, which is new for me. I have no expectations and so far I have been one of the fastest riders here in Cartagena. The pace has been unexpected and is a surprise, but there is no pressure from the team either,” said Mossey, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the track.
“The lap times are really good and there is no need for me to change anything major at the moment. We have only made one change, and that is we softened the front end a bit, but that is the only thing we touched. I am enjoying going out on the SC1, but this morning I tried a zero but I didn’t think too much of it, but the race tyre works great with this bike.”
