In the opening race at Cadwell Park, Charlie Nesbitt claimed his first podium of the 2024 season.

Charlie Nesbitt had not stood on the podium in 2024 until the opening race at Cadwell Park. The MasterMac Honda rider finished in third on Sunday behind his teammate Lee Jackson and Kyle Ryde.

This is Nesbitt's fourth-ever BSB podium and his first BSB podium at Cadwell Park. His result from Sunday has moved him up to tenth in the Championship, eight points behind Jackson in ninth.

After the race, Nesbitt told Shane Byrne that it was not an easy race, but he managed to learn a lot across the 18 laps.

"It wasn't easy to be fair," Nesbitt stated. "I knew Leebob (Jackson) and a few others were going to be coming through. But I just tried my best to stay with the front group follow them and learn as much as I could. Jason started going backwards a bit so I was able to get past him and I just carried on hunting Lee down really."

Nesbitt also believes that he will be able to improve for the two races on Bank Holiday Monday.

"Yeah 100%," Nesbitt continued, "there were a few little niggles I was having later on in the race because we haven't done a full race run in the dry. But I am really looking forward to tomorrow now, with the data and what we have learned we can move forward and see what we can do!"
