Charlie Nesbitt topped both of the British Superbike (BSB) Friday Free Practice sessions at Oulton Park.
At the opening round of the Showdown, the MasterMac Honda riders stole the headlines on Friday. Charlie Nesbitt ended up topping the timesheets in both Free Practice One and Free Practice Two.
The #86 claimed his first podium of the 2024 season last time out at Cadwell Park as he finished in third. Nesbitt also finished in fourth place in both the other races in Lincolnshire as he catapulted himself into 10th in the standings.
After ending Friday on top for the first time this season Nesbitt reflected on what had been a perfect day.
"Today has been one of the better Fridays we have had, everything has just worked," Nesbitt said after Free Practice Two.
"We worked step by step, we have not tried to do anything radical and done everything all in one lap. We have built up quite nicely and got a nice rhythm, I think the race pace is good as well so overall I am very happy with day one."
However, no points are handed out on a Friday so Saturday will be a different task. Nesbitt hopes that he can continue his momentum and improve again on Saturday.
Nesbitt stated: "I think tomorrow is going to be difficult again because everyone is going to step their game up. Everyone has done a day of riding, their settings are going to be changing. I think if we can do the same again and go a bit faster then we will be in a good position."
