A brand new factory-backed Kawasaki team looks set to take the 2009 British Superbike Championship by storm in 2009 but it's so secret that only two riders have been contacted about it.
Believed to be financed by a Team Green main dealer, the squad has been in talks with two riders who have already been signed with other BSB teams and are offering a package so good, they may be tempted away.
Where this leaves Hawk and Nick Morgan's MSS teams is now anyone's guess but with the lack of works support for both teams over recent years, it wouldn't be a shock to see them defect.
Hawk's team owner Stuart Hicken, a long-time Kawasaki man, toyed with the idea of switching manufacturers at the end of last season while there is no reason while Nick Morgan, of MSS, should stay with Kawasaki after receiving the best part of no help over recent seasons.
However, it's an odd decision for Kawasaki UK to get behind a new, dealer-based team but would back up their new commitment to World Superbike racing and will maybe stop them lobbing money at the MotoGP outfit that hasn't a whelk's chance in a supernova of ever winning anything.
