‘No messing about’ for Buchan at Brands Hatch

Be Wiser Kawasaki’s Danny Buchan says there will be no messing about at this weekend’s Brands Hatch MCE British Superbike round and he is desperate to come away with at least two top-ten finishes.

The Essex ladies’ man crashed out of both races at Donington Park after running at the front and says he will come out fighting right from minute one of free practice on Friday at the Kent circuit.

"Looking back at Donington Park, despite the two crashes I really enjoyed it. We lost some time in free practice two with the crash and I think perhaps that extra time would have helped. For the first race of the season it was crazy - and that's coming from me and I am not scared of getting my elbows out,” said Buchan.

"The race one crash was a small mistake but I think it just shows how hard I was pushing. I was trying because I don't want to be too steady and then mess around in 16th place, that's not what I am here for. The team did a fantastic job though to turn it around for me and I can't thank them enough for their hard work at the first round.

"We have to come out fighting again at Brands Hatch. You can see from Donington Park that the guys at the front don't make many mistakes, so we need to work really hard and then just do the best job we can. The crashes haven't affected my confidence and I am still going to be pushing.

"I want at least want two top ten finishes because at Donington I felt comfortable at the front. I am like a sponge at the moment, trying to soak up everything, and you can guarantee I will be giving it everything."
