Oulton BSB: Byrne working on a ‘plan’ to win tomorrow

Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Shane Byrne missed out on his 50th MCE British Superbike race win, after he could not find a way to overtake Milwaukee Yamaha’s James Ellison in the first of three races at Oulton Park. The reigning champ has vowed to make a plan to improve for tomorrow.

Byrne still leads the championship, but the Lambeth born rider is only looking for the top step of the podium on Sunday. But it is not all bad for the triple champ as the result secures the racer his position in the Showdown and becomes the first rider to guarantee his spot inside the top six for the final title fight.

“It was difficult today I couldn’t manage to overtake James. I could only catch up with him, and the Yamaha is strong around here. But all credit to him for getting the win. We just need to make a plan to improve for tomorrow,” said Byrne, speaking at the circuit.
