Oulton BSB: Ellison overcomes throttle connection issues to finish second

JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s James Ellison has jumped to fourth in the overall MCE British Superbike standings, and is on 160 points after finishing race one in second at Oulton Park.

The positives for the Cumbrian was that his team have been working hard on solving some issues with the throttle connection on his ZX-10R, and after a recent test at Cadwell his crew rectified the problem, paving the way for him to clinch a podium.

Ellison is firmly in Showdown contention and was lying sixth going into round nine of the series at the Cheshire circuit. Now he is feeling confident he can be successful in the double-header on Sunday.

“We have done a lot of work as a team and we have been struggling with this throttle contention thing and we found a lot of direction with a test at Cadwell last week and we really found a good setting with the bike,” said Ellison at the track.

“It was that initial touch and I needed something there and we had this delay and all of a sudden it came and the boys have given me a bike I can ride, and I can race and they have done a fantastic job.”
