SMT Honda's Karl Harris reckons that a pair of engines used by Leon Haslam in his Stiggy Honda World Superbike have made a big difference to his performance this weekend plus the fact he is happy to be riding again.
Harris, who was fastest in both free practice sessions today, set a fastest lap of 1'36.277 at the end of the afternoon's outing which was quicker than Cal Crutchlow's qualifying time last year.
"I am really happy with that. The times were good in both sessions and it wasn't just one lap, we did quite a few runs and were able to do consistent laps," said Harris, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"The new motors are mega. They were built by Chris Mehew and Leon (Haslam) used them in WSB. There's quite a big difference in those engines, but it's also a lot do with the fact I am happy riding again too."
