A rare mistake by Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier meant he had to sit out almost all of this afternoon's second British Superbike free practice session at Oulton Park when a crash on lap seven ended his time on track.
After being second quickest behind Karl Harris this morning, Camier went out for a run of laps and, while turning into the Brittens Chicane, he caught the engine casing on a curb which levered the front wheel off the track.
"I'm really disappointed obviously. I'd been out on old tyres to get myself tuned into the track. I was just about to start pushing but I was being followed by a lot of other riders," said Camier.
"I got to the chicane, turned in, hit the casing on the curb and folded the front. Unfortunately it looks as though the Airwaves Yamaha has suffered a fair bit, so sorry to the guys at GSE Racing for giving them extra work tonight."
