Airwaves Yamaha's James Ellison has said his main aim this weekend is to protect the lead he has over Stuart Easton and hang on to second place in the British Superbike Champion to give GSE Racing their first one-two.
Ellison started his practice sessions on the virtually-stock spare bike and then progressed to his race bike using old tyres in order to get a real feel for the circuit ahead of tomorrow's qualifying and first race.
We've had a steady start to the weekend. We have to protect 2nd in the Championship so we're not looking to produce anything amazing, we just need to be consistent. I did some laps on the spare bike and then on my number one machine with used tyres, and everything is going to plan. I'm feeling really confident that we can make progress tomorrow and have a good first race," said the Kendal man.
