RS Racing’s Cat Green has been taken to hospital with a suspected neck injury after crashing in the Monster British Motostar first free practice session this morning, at Oulton Park.
Green, the first woman to win a British Championship, was taken to the medical centre, but her injuries required hospital attention, which prematurely ended her race weekend.
ICE MV Agusta UK rider Harry Stafford suffered a serious head injury following a high speed crash at the Island Bend section of the Oulton Park circuit during qualifying practice for the third round of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.
The 19-year -old from Shepshed, Leicestershire, tumbled heavily from his bike on the trackside, not making any contact with barriers or any other rider.
The session was red-flagged immediately to speed medical aid to the unconscious rider, who was further treated and stabilised in the circuit medical centre prior to his transfer by helicopter to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
Further details will be released when known.
