Doodson Motorsport’s Robbin Harms experienced the Oulton Park circuit for the first time today, and even though he put in some solid lap times in the first MCE British Superbike free practice session, he could only manage to finish twentieth fastest overall in the final free practice this afternoon.
The rider who hails from Copenhagen struggled with the set up of his Honda, and found it difficult being a rookie at the circuit. Even though he completed the most laps this morning, he was disappointed with his performance this afternoon.
“It takes a lot of momentum and a really good set-up of the bike to do well on this track, and we have a big job to do regarding the process of the set-up, and for me to find momentum out on the track. It was a shame it was raining in the morning, as I really needed to do some laps, but I did manage to get some laps under my belt, so that was good. The second practice was dry and I was really looking forward to it, but I was struggling with the set up, and I was a bit disappointed by the second free practice session,” said Harms, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the circuit.
“We are going to analyse the data we have and listen to my feedback, and we are going to do some radical changes on the bike. This track is really difficult, as it takes time to learn this one, even though I can see the corners more, it is still a tough track.”
