Oulton BSB: Haslam content as challenging circuits loom

Double-winner Leon Haslam has admitted he and the JG Speedfit Kawasaki squad still have a lot to learn as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship heads into its six-week break.

But the series leader is in high spirits after a perfect weekend points haul, and now looks forward to some of the more challenging tracks where he feels he and the team still have some work to do.

Haslam kicked off the season with a difficult Donington Park round, where he felt his tyre held back progress. But the Derby man says he’s since turned a corner and is delighted to be heading into Snetterton with a points advantage.

“I was confident after testing and we just had a bad Donington with the bad tyre we had,” he told Bikesport News. “But since then we’ve got the most out of what we’ve had, we got three wins on the bounce.

“I’m over the moon with where we’re at, we’ve still got a lot to look forward to and learn. We’re going to have some more difficult circuits coming up but we’re on the right track.

“But going into the break with the lead and podium credits, I’m really happy.”
