Oulton BSB: Hedger storms to second Motostar victory

FPW Racing’s Luke Hedger stormed to his second Monster Energy Motostar race victory of the year by 11.511 seconds after the challenge of Cat Green was cut short due to technical problems.

Hedger made a terrible start off of the line being shunted back to fourth with Green hitting the front and looking to clear away. The Championship leader carved his way through the field to second by the end of lap two and began to close in on Green.

After swapping positions multiple times, Hedger finally made it permanent and began to open out a comfortable lead over Green and take the victory. Hedger took full advantage of Championship rivals Kyle Ryde and Bradley Ray being absent at the Red Bull Rookies in Germany to open out his Championship lead to 29 points.

Green looked certain to take her best ever finish and become the first women to stand on a British Championship podium she was forced to retire with technical issues.

Behind Phillip Wakefield took his first ever podium in second and Connor Behan fought off Joe Francis, Harry Hartley and Tom Carne to take third in his comeback race.

Callum Bey took seventh ahead of Martin Glossop with e3 Motorsport’s Joe Irving and Arnie Shelton rounding out the top ten.
