TAG Honda’s Dan Linfoot will still be developing his new Fireblade at this weekend’s Bennetts British Superbike opener as he still has parts and settings to try.
The Yorkshireman is returning to Honda power for the first time in two years after difficult seasons with a chatter-filled Yamaha R1 and is hoping for some solid points at Oulton over the weekend.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back racing this weekend, I would have liked a few more days testing to feel more comfortable on the bike but the next best thing is to start going racing,” said Linfoot.
“We have three races this weekend and we will be able to test things in a race environment, so from that point of view it’s a good thing we’re going racing. It’s a compact season so that is a different element, which will be good to be a part of.
“Like I say I’m looking forward to the weekend, I want to improve my feeling with the bike, we have a few new parts and small tweaks to try to push us forward so hopefully by Saturday afternoon we have found a good feeling and pace to set us up nicely for the races.
“Getting a good chunk of points is what I’m looking at this weekend, if I can come home with three solid top eight finishes then we can head to Knockhill with lots of confidence.”
