Samsung Honda’s Alex Lowes starts the first MCE British Superbike race at Oulton Park from the number one spot on the grid, but was left rather ‘embarrassed’ when he crashed on his warm down lap at Shell seconds after clocking the fastest lap of the weekend to place him on pole.

The youngster had to get a lift back to his garage from the safety car, but fortunately he was unhurt.  Now his team are in a race against time to get his Honda ready for the opening race in an hour’s time.

“I crashed on my warm down lap, which is embarrassing. I didn’t want to push too hard, but I still fell. But my bike is working good and we have shown that we have enough pace for the first race this afternoon,” said Lowes, at the circuit.
