OULTON BSB: LOWES GETS JACKSON AS ASTRO TEAM-MATE

Astro Racing's Sam Lowes will have former British Superbike man Lee Jackson joining him in the British Supersport class at Oulton Park over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Jackson is a vastly-experienced rider, having seen success in British Superbike, National Superstock and British Supersport, and will bring his own Honda CBR600 into the Astro camp.

"Lee is a  top-class rider and should work well along side the other two Honda runners in Sam and Luke Quigley. Oulton is one of his favourite tracks and despite no real testing this year I hope he goes out, enjoys himself and does well," said Astro team boss Stuart Tromans.

Also running in Astro colours in Junior Superstock 600 for the first time will be the young Irish rider Jamie Hamilton. This has been put together in conjunction with Gearlink and MSS Colchester and came about at the last minute.

Friday free practice will be first time Hamilton will sit on the bike but with support from Gearlink and being reunited with a Kawasaki ZX-6R that he did so well on last year, Hamilton ought to be back in the running.

Tromans also intimated another deal with a well-known rider but would not be drawn on the details.
