FHO BMW's Peter Hickman goes into this weekend's Bennetts British Superbike season opener in confident mood after putting in business-end laptimes during pre-season tests.
The Isle of Man TT lap record holder finished less than three-tenths off the pace at a recent Oulton Park outing and says the M1000RR is moving in the right direction.
“Testing has been really good for myself and the FHO Racing BMW team, the new M 1000 RR is working well already and I am really happy with it," said the Louth rider.
"We were at the sharp end during testing which was nice, and I know it is only testing, but the signs are very positive.
“I am looking forward to Oulton Park; we tested there a few weeks ago and we were strong – I finished fourth and was only 0.2 off the fastest time so I am looking forward to getting racing, especially in front of some fans. I know it will be limited which is a shame, but hopefully we will see everyone back soon to enjoy the racing.”
