Quattro Kawasaki’s Luke Mossey staked his claim on the 20-15 MCE British Superbike Riders’ Cup with two top-six finishes at Oulton Park and he is destined for his own showdown with Stuart Easton and Richard Cooper for the trophy.

Saturday afternoon saw the first 18-lap encounter and, having qualified sixth, Mossey slipped back to ninth in the early stages before regrouping and fighting his way back through the pack. By half race distance he was up to fifth and locked in battle with Dan Linfoot and at the chequered flag, it was the Honda man who took the 11 points with Mpossey having to settle for sixth.
 
Sunday saw the usual two races take place and the Royston rider was never outside the top six in the opening encounter. For much of the race he occupied fourth place and although Linfoot pushed him back to fifth, second placed Shane Byrne was forced to retire on the penultimate lap promoting Mossey back to fourth for his second highest finish of the season. Grip problems kept him down in 11th in the final race but the good haul of points has seen him move up to ninth overall in the Championship table.

"It was another good weekend for us at Oulton Park and I feel that we achieved some really strong results over the weekend. I had the pace and we were lucky to find a good set-up early on in the weekend from the data we had from the first round here in May,” said Mossey.
 
“The Quattro Plant Teccare Kawasaki team once again worked so hard for me here at Oulton and we really made some good progress throughout the weekend. It was a bit disappointing in the last race to have a tyre issue but I nursed her home and still managed to secure a few points. I can't wait for Silverstone and Assen and hope to have a good solid end to my first British Superbike season.”
