Oulton BSB: O’Halloran hopes ‘valuable test’ holds the key

McAMS Yamaha’s Jason O’Halloran has his sights set on the front runners as Bennetts British Superbike Championship heads to Oulton Park this weekend.

With his teammate Tarran Mackenzie targeting a return to competitive action at the Cheshire track, O’Halloran has his own objectives, mixing it in the podium battle.

The Australian currently sits sixth in the standings after a solid Silverstone points haul, but last week’s test saw the team take a big step forward with the 2022-spec YXF-R1, one O’Halloran believes will see him closer to the front in the Bank Holiday races.

“Silverstone was the most laps we’d done on this bike all year and we learned quite a bit there, but heading to Oulton for the test last week was very valuable,’ O’Halloran confirmed.

“We think we know which direction to go in to get closer to the front, so I’m really looking forward to trying that. We weren’t far off in the test, but with a few changes I think we can be right up there.”
