OULTON BSB: REILLY TAKES THE WIN

Kelvin Reilly of Inmoto Corse used the benefit of his front row start to take the win ahead of  Pauli Pekkanen from Pauli Pekkanen Racing and third place Redline Motorcylces/VCB rider James Edmeades.
The race was not without events, things started with the race being declared wet on the grid forcing the majority of riders to carry out a drastic tyre change.  Some took the gamble including pole position man David Wood who crashed out on the warm up lap, but fortunately was ok.
Edmeades, Reilly and Pekkanen led the pack on the first lap as the charging began.  All riders settled into a rhythm until lap five when Reilly finally took the lead after gradually bringing the gap down.
As Reilly pulled away to take the win by four seconds, Edmeades fell back into the clutches of Pekkanen who eventually on lap nine took advantage.  Then the battle began between Ed Smith of Redline KTM and Edmeades.
Smith attacked to take third place on lap nine, but couldn’t break away from the revenging Edmeades.  This continued into the final lap where they were side by side, almost touching going into the last corner.  Edmeades had the final say and took the last step on the podium.
Adam Foster of Fozzy Racing who was under technical observation at one point in the race finished sixth overall taking first place in the Cup under 25s championship.  Fast Trak Racing Taryn Skinner had to settle for a lucky seventh place and second in the cup after successfully rejoining the race following an incident.
Whilst holding fourth position Skinner ran off track at high speed, did some grass tracking at Island bend, but skillfully kept the bike up right to continue.  The third cup position was taken by Jonathan Railton of Ducks X Racing who was close behind in eighth position.
Kelvin Reilly now leads the championship with 75 points, followed by Ed Smith and James Edmeades.  Jonathan Railton leads the Cup championship on 61 points with Sam Bishop of Kester Cunningham John/ Samp Bishop Racing and Adam Foster rounding off the top three.
