Padgett’s Honda’s Jakub Smrz will be riding in both the MCE British Superbike and the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 classes today, at Oulton Park.
The Czech Republic rider usually participates in just the British Superbike races, but the team are yet undecided as to whether Smrz with race in both classes over the weekend.
The former World Superbike rider has not been to Oulton Park many times in the past and has chosen to ride in both classes to gain more experience going around the track.
“The reason I am doing both today is because I have not done many laps here before so I need to know the track better, and everyone knows that you can go fast here if you know it really well, and that is why I am going in both classes, so I can get to know the track,” says Smrz, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the circuit.
“Today and maybe tomorrow, and for race day we will see if I race in both classes, but we haven’t planned ahead yet. In the morning session we didn’t go out because it was raining, and in Superstock I only did a few laps because I wanted to see what it was like on the bike. But it is ok so far, hopefully the weather will be wet or dry. But the priority for me is Superbikes."
