Honda Racing’s Jenny Tinmouth is happy with her base setting on her Fireblade and during the MCE British Superbike test at her home track of Oulton Park she was able to make the most of her time out on the circuit, and certainly put down the miles on Friday.
Oulton was the first track that Tinmouth ever rode a motorbike on and it is a circuit she really enjoys. Her team slightly tweaked the base setting on the Honda to adapt to the nature of the Cheshire track, especially after coming from the last round at Silverstone.
But Tinmouth is a tad disappointed that she was unable to lap faster than her best time she set at the circuit last year, but now she is feeling more content going into round-two next week after finding a base setting she is comfortable with.
“Being my home track I love it a lot and it was the first track I have ever rode on. It is brilliant and it is an old school track and on a Superbike you are in the corner all the time so it is good fun and a proper rollercoaster and I really enjoy it," said Tinmouth, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“We have been just testing a bit of the settings really. We have found a good base setting while we were away testing and we have been building on that to suit the circuit. This track is so physical it is good to come here and get a few laps underneath your belt and get a tweak on the settings.
“I am happy with the bike set-up, but I am a little bit disappointed in myself as you always want to come back to a track and beat your own best lap before, but I didn’t get there. But it felt good to get laps under my belt, and I am just happy to get some laps down and looking forward to next weekend.”
