Rapido Sport Racing’s Tristan Palmer has the confidence with his team and the bike to aim for more wins in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000, after taking the lead from the opening lap and storming to the victory and Oulton Park last weekend.
The racer successfully held off the charges SMT Racing’s Adam Jenkinson and WD40 rider Tommy Aquino to clinch the victory, his second of the year. Palmer has put his run of good form down to the hard work of his team, and vows to go even faster.
“I knew that I would have to get in the lead as fast as possible and see what I could do to control the race. My last win was at Knockhill and we have gradually built up to my second win of the year, and it is great for the team as we have worked hard on the Ducati to get it there and we are getting faster and faster,” said Palmer, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“I was trying to push to get a gap, and then I knew it was going to be a battle till the end and I used the Ducati where it is strong and used my head for a change and just kept going and on the last lap I knew they were going to have a go and I tired to hold them up in the corners to prevent them from passing me. But they battled between themselves and held themselves up a bit, which worked out better for me.
“We are getting stronger and stronger and hopefully I can get a win again, I really like Cadwell and it is a track that is a bit like Oulton, which I enjoy and I go well there, as it is a bit more physically and hopefully I can get a win there too.”
