Tyco BMW’s Tommy Bridewell and the Be Wiser Kawasaki of Danny Buchan collided at the fast last chicane in race one at Thruxton’s MCE British Superbike round yesterday with plenty of backlash from the riders and fans alike. Buchan lost the front of his ZX-10R into the right-hander and collected Bridewell, who was thrown into the air and landed on his head.

Bridewell made it out for race two, as did Buchan, with the Devizes rider managing to bag a fourth-place finish and ensure his survival in Showdown contention while Buchan retired with bike problems.
