‘Pressure is on’ to secure third in BSB title chase, says Linfoot

Honda Racing’s Dan Linfoot is in a three-way scrap to secure third place in this year’s MCE British Superbike series as he has team-mate Jason O’Halloran and James Ellison snapping at his heels.

Linfoot took 26 points away from Assen and has a six-point lead over JG Speedfit’s Ellison while Aussie O’Halloran is a further four in arrears. Close enough for ya?

“At Assen I was happy with our pace and our ability to fight in the front group, leaving with two fourths is OK, but I of course would have liked to grab a podium or two! But the results were a good chunk of points and keep us third in the championship heading to Brands,” said the Yorkshireman.

“I know Jason’s target is to finish the year in third too, along with James, so there’s some pressure on me to make sure we have three solid races and I can finish the year third. We have three important races to finish the job now and I’m sure Leon and Shakey will be on it, so it will be good to be in the middle of that.

“At this time of year the weather can be tricky, so we just have to be on our toes. I’m looking forward to the weekend, giving it my all and hopefully doing our Fireblade some service and finishing off the year in style.”
