Rain interrupts third day of Honda BSB test

Intermittent heavy showers interrupted the third day of Honda Racing’s testing at Monteblanco but riders Jason O’Halloran and Dan Linfoot still managed to get in 15 laps each and continue with vital development work.

The pair used a different circuit layout than on the first two days which incorporated a couple more tighter corners and although they found it useful, the lost track time means they will revert to the original tomorrow.

“It was a bit of a frustrating day because of the weather but the positives are that as soon as I got on the bike I felt comfortable, the changes that we made were also positive in the main,” said O’Halloran, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Monteblanco.

“We made the bike more stable under braking but lost a bit of corner-exit grip, so now we will work towards bringing that grip back. The new track layout we used was good but maybe a little tight for what we want to do.

“We have got some direction for tomorrow, we used the same tyre today that we finished on and that was the most we had put on one tyre and it was still good until about five laps from the end.”

Linfoot added: “We lost quite a lot of track time today, with only 15 laps or so and we didn’t get a chance to try an awful lot but we carried on with some settings and that will give is a direction for tomorrow.”
