Rapid Training backs CDH Racing for BSB 2021

Bennetts British Superbike team CDH Racing has bagged a new sponsor in the shape of Rapid Training – Britain’s leading advanced rider training compan.

In a ground-breaking deal, Rapid will not only support CDH’s BSB efforts in 2021 but will tap into the team’s expertise to improve elements of its training courses.

“We are very excited to be joining the British Superbike Championship this year,” said Rapid Training boss Brian Glover-Smith. “Our coaching team already includes TT riders, international enduro racers and Police Class 1 riders, so collaborating with CDH Racing is a natural step on our journey to become an even more effective performance rider development brand.”

The new team has high hopes for 2021 after spending the winter developing their Kawasaki ZX-10R. Rapid CDH’s rider is Josh Owens, who won the 2019 British GP2 championships (similar to Moto2) and was the 2017 British 125 champion.

“We’re delighted to be joining forces with the guys from Rapid – I think we’ll work really well together,” said Rapid CDH team boss Dean Hipwell.

“We’re a family-run team – my dad raced for over 15 years and so did I, so we’ve got a lot of experience to help Josh. He’s young and has  a lot of potential on the Superbike. Having raced in BSB last year, he’s done his apprenticeship and now it’s the time to put everything we’ve learned together to get some good results.

"We’ve got the infrastructure, the bike and the experience to do that. Now we’ve got Rapid on side, everything’s coming together nicely.”
