Retaining Brookes was ‘prime focus’ says team boss Muir

Milwaukee Yamaha team boss Shaun Muir had one target before the end of the 2014 MCE British Superbike season and that was to retain Josh Brookes as his number one rider for next season.

The Guisborough businessman pulled out all the stops to make sure Brookes stayed with the squad and is delighted the Bringelly rider will be on-board again to challenge for the title in 2015.

“Retaining Josh in BSB with us was our prime focus. I'm delighted that we have him on board for a second year. There are lots of positives coming from Yamaha and the future is very exciting,” said Muir.

“Josh recognises that Yamaha are watching his progress. If he delivers the results, that success will be rewarded. I'm certain we will see a stronger and more polished racer with a second year on the R1.”
