Rich OMG part ways with Mossey and Barbera

Rich Energy OMG Racing will have an all-new line up for the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike Championship having parted ways with this year's incumbents Luke Mossey and Hector Barbera.

A team statement said that despite 'extensive conversations' both riders' contracts - which ran out at the conclusion of this year's championship - will not be renewed.

In what was a disappointing season for the entire set of BMW riders in this year's series, Mossey - a previous race winner for Kawasaki - finished the season in 11th overall, with a best finish of sixth, and was the highest placed rider on the S1000RR.

Barbera, meanwhile, had his first full season in the UK with the former MotoGP rider looking to adapt to the UK circuits but the COVID-19 pandemic meant he missed out on valuable track time both before and during the season and could only take a best finish of tenth, eventually finishing the season in 17th overall.

The team will continue with BMW in 2021 where they'll run the new M1000RR with the first rider expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Talks are continuing with a number of riders for the second berth.
