Honda TT Legends star Michael Rutter has broken his leg on the second day of World Endurance testing at Mireval in France and is now back in the UK for treatment.
The 40-something rider, who was taking part in the shakedown test before moving on to the official testing at Albacete, suffered a break at the base of his tibia and now faces a race for fitness before the opening MCE British Superbike race on April 7.
"It didn’t feel too bad at first and I was walking around after the crash but we thought it was best to get an x-ray done just to be sure. That revealed a crack at the base of my tibia near the ankle joint," said Rutter.
"I was given crutches and a temporary cast to get back to the UK and get it sorted out. Hopefully it won’t take too long to heal and I’ll be back on the bike as soon as possible."
