After weeks of rumour and speculation, it has been confirmed this afternoon that Michael Rutter will take the NorthWest 200 cash and join forces with Rob Mac Racing for the 2009 British Superbike Championship.
After an extended break In Thailand, due to being held up at Bangkok airport, Rutter gave some serious thought to his position and decided that being in the same team as his old sparring partner Chris Walker was the way forward.
“I am delighted to be able to continue my association with the North West 200 and I am confident that we will be able to work very well with Rob Mac Racing," said Rutter.
"So far the news on the R1 coming out of World Superbike testing is very positive, and I am looking forward to throwing my leg over the bike in February."
